Man remanded into custody for firearms museum theft
The Pirkanmaa District Court on Tuesday remanded a man into custody for his alleged involvement in the incident of the Kuhmoinen firearms museum theft, police said in a press release on Tuesday.
A total of 34 handguns were stolen from the Gun and Military Museum at Kuhmoinen in Pirkanmaa region in-between July 2 and July 3.
The 49-year old suspected who remanded into custody admitted his involvement in the incident to police.
Police detained a total of four people in connection with the incident.
The police detected the suspects based on the information related to the light blue metallic Toyota Avensis private car, which was moving at the area during the night of the incident.
The firearms stolen from the museum included Nagant revolvers, Lahti pistols and Colt handguns and all of the firearms remain functional.
