No positive progress in Gaza truce talks

No positive progress has been made in the Gaza truce talks on Saturday, a source from the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said, reported Xinhua.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Xinhua that the negotiations encountered challenges due to Israel's insistence on not committing to a (permanent) ceasefire.

Hamas demanded in the deal an Israeli pullout from Gaza and a complete end to the conflict, conditions that Israel has been rejecting.

An earlier report from Al Arabiya News channel said Hamas had agreed to release 33 hostages, instead of the initial 20, in the first phase of the ceasefire deal, as required by Israel.

Hamas delegation arrived in Cairo Saturday to meet the Egyptian mediators on a possible Gaza truce that would see the return to Israel of some hostages.

It’s disheartening to see that there hasn’t been any positive progress in the Gaza truce talks. It’s crucial for both parties to prioritize peace and find a sustainable solution for the conflict, instead of getting caught up in disagreements.

It’s disappointing to see no positive progress in the Gaza truce talks. Hamas’ demands for an Israeli pullout from Gaza and a complete end to the conflict are being rejected by Israel, resulting in stalled negotiations. Let’s hope for a peaceful resolution soon.

It’s disheartening to see that there is no positive progress in the Gaza truce talks. Hamas’ demands for a full Israeli pullout from Gaza and an end to the conflict are crucial for lasting peace, yet Israel’s refusal to commit to a permanent ceasefire is hindering the negotiations. Let’s hope both sides can find common ground soon for the sake of all those affected by the ongoing conflict.

Why is Israel rejecting Hamas’ condition for a complete end to the conflict? Isn’t that the ultimate goal of these talks?
