Glitches further delay OL3 nuke plant´s operation resumption

The resumption of power generation at the Olkiluoto 3 nuclear power plant will be delayed further by six more days due technical problems, said the owner of the plant Teollisuuden Voima Oyj (TVO) in a press release on Sunday.

Power generation at the OL3 plant remained suspended due to the annual outage since March 2.

Earlier on March 28, the TVO said that the outage of Olkiluoto 3 would be extended by five days and scheduled to be ended on April 20.

About 1,100 external professionals are involved in the outage. Olkiluoto 1 and Olkiluoto 2 are normally producing electricity at this moment with a total capacity of about 1,780 MW.
