Finnish school children cross Russian border
A group of Finnish school children on Thursday allegedly crossed the Russian border through Simpele area without permission, said Finnish Border Guard in a press release.
Border guards detected the unauthorised movement of the 10 students of nine grade and found that Five of them allegedly crossed the Russian border and came back while the rest five crossed the Finnish border zone.
The Border guards caught them from Savonlinna area.
The Southeastern Finland Border Guard started a preliminary investigation into the incident.
The Border Guard authority also communicated with the guardians of the children and the Vyborg Border Guard after the incident.
Children above 15 years only could be punished in Finland as per the law.
