A man died in the detention cell of police at Lahti main police station on Tuesday, police said in a press release on Wednesday.
The authority found the 25-year-old man dead during the inspection round.
The police, however, did not divulge details about the reason behind the death and the identity of the deceased.
The Länsi-Uusimaa police are investigating into the death to ensure transparency of the police operation in this regard.
The prosecutor office will also probe into the involvement of police in connection with the incident.
Earlier in May this year, two custodial deaths took place in the detention cell of police at Pasila in Helsinki.
On May 27, a man died in the detention cell of police at Pasila in Helsinki.
Another man died in the same detention cell on May 29.
