10 Palestinians killed in Israeli shelling in Gaza Strip
At least 10 Palestinians were killed in Israeli shelling of a school sheltering displaced people and a residential house in the central Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian sources on Monday, reported Xinhua.
Eyewitnesses told Xinhua that Israeli warplanes targeted the Khalid bin al-Walid school in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the center of the Gaza Strip. The Civil Defense in Gaza stated that the bombing killed five people and injured several others with varying degrees of injury, all of whom were taken to the hospital.
In another tragedy, a woman and four of her children from the al-Samak family were killed in an Israeli airstrike on their home in Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.
Israel launched a large-scale offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip to retaliate against a Hamas rampage through the southern Israeli border on Oct. 7, 2023, during which about 1,200 people were killed and about 250 taken hostage.
The Palestinian death toll from ongoing Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip has risen to 41,455, according to Gaza-based health authorities in a statement on Monday.
