15 killed, 61 injured in paramilitary forces attack in Sudan
At least 15 people were killed and 61 others injured in an artillery attack by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on a crowded civilian market in Omdurman city, north of the capital Khartoum, Khartoum State's Health Ministry announced on Monday, reported Xinhua.
He said that the injured had been transferred to Al-Nao and Sawaed hospitals, Mohamed Ibrahim, spokesman of the ministry, noting that the death toll could be higher as the rescue team could not reach and identify some victims.
The RSF has not yet commented on the attack.
Since April 15, 2023, Sudan has been embroiled in a violent conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the RSF, resulting in at least 16,650 deaths and the displacement of millions of people, according to UN estimates.
