On 31 August the Government announced the launch of the Carbon Capture and Storage Research Development and Demonstration Fund (the CCS RD&D Fund). The CCS RD&D Fund is a competitive grants programme that will provide up to $25 million in support for CCS research and development in Australia, with a particular focus on transport and storage. On 25 August a new round of research funding through the Coal Innovation NSW Fund was announced, to encourage academics, researchers and industry to develop world leading projects that look to develop innovative methods for low emission coal technologies.
